Anna Evans is a board certified pediatric hematology oncology nurse and a board certified primary care pediatric nurse practitioner. She received her Bachelors Degree in Nursing from Indiana University in 2000 and her Master Degree in Nursing from University of California Los Angeles in 2006.


Anna began caring for pediatric oncology patients fifteen years ago. In that time she has had three peer-reviewed publications and twenty two presentations at local, national and international conferences. As the nurse practitioner (NP) professional ladder committee chair, she provides NPs opportunities for promotion based on professional contributions. Acting as Principal Investigator on the research study entitled “The Use of Aromatherapy to Decrease Chemotherapy Induced Nausea in Children with Cancer” she obtained the J Patrick Barnes Daisy Foundation grant. As Chapter Treasurer, Anna was recognized as NAPNAP LA “NP of the year” in 2015. Anna was nursing committee chair for two years for the pediatric brain tumor consortium and she sits on the editorial board of the National Cancer Institute Supportive Care Summary. Anna was the recipient of the 2016 Dianne Fochtman New Author Award at APHON in Indianapolis. She begins the Doctorate of Nursing Practice (DNP) program at the University of Alabama-Birmingham Summer 2017.
