Maureen Roeder graduated from St. Vincent Catholic Medical Center School of Nursing with an associate degree in 2005. Roeder began her nursing career as an inpatient pediatric psychiatric nurse at Cohen Children's Medical Center of New York. She worked there for a year and a half before transferring to the pediatric hematology/oncology inpatient unit.
Roeder worked as a staff nurse on the unit, where she developed her love for pediatric hem/onc and was able to successfully obtain and maintain a CPHON certification. In 2014 she took on the assistant nurse manager role. Roeder obtained a BSN from LIU Post in 2016. In June 2017 she came to Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center to work in the outpatient pediatric ophthalmic oncology clinic working with Dr. Abramson and the retinoblastoma team.
