Kaye Schmidt received her BSN at South Dakota State University in 1983, and her Master's in Nursing from the University of Iowa in 1991. She is currently the Senior Director of the Pauline Allen Gill Center for Cancer & Blood Disorders at Children's Health; Children's Medical Center in Dallas. She has spent her entire career in pediatric hematology-oncology, including 30 years in management. She has been in her current position for almost 14 years. As a senior nursing leader in her current position, she is involved in managing rapid change as the industry experiences ongoing change in the current market. She has spoken on the implications of health care reform on the pediatric hematology-oncology population several times over the past 5 years.
