Stacy Whiteside APRN, MS, CPNP-AC/PC, CPON received both her undergraduate and graduate degrees in nursing from the Ohio State University. She has spent her entire nursing career in the Hematology/Oncology/BMT/Apheresis department at Nationwide Children's Hospital. Stacy has been a passionate advocate for adolescents and young adults (AYAs) with cancer for many years, most recently focusing on the reproductive health of children and AYAs after cancer. On the national level, she serves as the nursing representative to the Children's Oncology Group AYA Committee and is the chair of the patient navigation committee of the Oncofertility Consortium Pediatric Initiative Network. As a founding member of the Nationwide Children’s Hospital Fertility and Reproductive Health program, Stacy currently serves as the fertility patient navigator providing counseling and fertility preservation options for all patients with medical conditions or treatments that may impact their future fertility and reproductive health.

She began her career as a Nutrition Services Aid, then spent 3.5 years as a Nursing Station Technician on the Pediatric Blood & Marrow Transplant unit at University of MN Masonic Children’s Hospital. She then transitioned to a registered nurse role on that same unit, where she became a Core Charge Nurse and spent the next 5 years of her career.

Stacy obtained a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from the University of Kansas School of Nursing in 1998, and a Master of Science from the UCSF Acute Care Pediatric Nurse Practitioner program in 2010. She worked in pediatric oncology for over 14 years as an RN, and for five years as a Pediatric Oncology Nurse Practitioner in both academic and tertiary care centers. Since 2017, she has worked as a Pediatric Nurse Practitioner in the department of Blood & Marrow Transplantation at Children’s Hospital Oakland. She served as the Membership Chair on the San Francisco Bay Area chapter of APHON (BAPHON) from 2014 to 2020, and currently serves as a liaison on the APHON Local Chapter Committee.

Joanne Wolfe, MD MPHProfessor of Pediatrics

Dr. Joanne Wolfe is Faculty Vice President for Faculty Development at Dana-Farber Cancer Institute. She is a Professor of Pediatrics at Harvard Medical School. She is board certified in Hospice and Palliative Medicine and Pediatric Hematology/Oncology. Dr. Wolfe is internationally recognized for her pediatric palliative care expertise and her research focuses on improving care for children with advanced illness. Dr. Wolfe's research is focused on easing suffering and promoting well-being in children with serious illnesses and their families.

Jennifer Young has had the pleasure and privilege of working with children, adolescents, young adults and families with pediatric hematologic and oncologic diseases for that he past 23 years. During this time Jennifer developed a passion for providing excellent, evidence based care to children and adolescents with Sickle Cell Disease and Beta Thalassemia Major. Educating colleagues, staff and patients/families is also an aspect of Jennifer's professional role that Jennifer loves as Jennifer truly believe that knowledge if power and a driving force in providing high quality care. In addition to Jennifer's clinical role Jennifer has the privilege of leading the Hem and Onc APRNs, Nurse Clinicians and Nurse Navigators at Nationwide Children's Hospital. In this role Jennifer is able to advocate for professional practice, help eliminate barriers and work to grow the team professionally. Working in peds Hem/Onc is truly a joy and a calling for Jennifer.

Sue is a Nurse Practitioner in the Leukemia and Lymphoma program at the Hospital for Sick Children. Sue is currently serving as the COG Nursing Discipline Chair. Primarily Sue is engaged in clinical care, but also has research interests in sleep and fatigue and provision of patient and family education in pediatric oncology.
