Shannon Danhauer graduated from Indiana University School of Nursing in 2016. She spent one year working night shift on an adult hematology/oncology unit at University Hospital in Indianapolis. She was then hired onto the pediatric Hematology/Oncology unit at Riley Hospital for Children in Indianapolis, where she has worked for four years. At Riley, Shannon has worked night shift and day shift, been a charge nurse, worked in the Nursing Practice Advocate role, and is now piloting an inpatient nurse navigator position on the hematology/oncology and stem cell transplant units. She co-chairs the Riley Hospital Nursing Excellence Council and her unit's Professional Practice Council. In August of 2020, she began her journey to become a Pediatric Nurse Practitioner through Indiana University School of Nursing's MSN program. Shannon hopes to continue her career as a PNP working in pediatric hematology/oncology after graduation in May 2023.
