Kathy Perko, PPCNP-BC CPON® CHPPN FPCNPediatric Nurse Practitioner

Kathy Perko started her career in pediatric oncology at the Children’s Hospital in Seattle with a clinical focus caring for children with high-risk disease. In 2001, she founded the Bridges Palliative Care Program at OHSU Doernbecher Children's Hospital. She continued to see children with hematologic and oncologic conditions in that role. In May of 2020, she transitioned to Pediatric Palliative Care Education Director. She retired from OHSU Doernbecher in November 2020.


Ms. Perko is a national ELNEC, EPEC (Education in Palliative and End of Life Care-Pediatrics) and Vital Talk trainer. She is nationally certified as a Pediatric Nurse Practitioner, Pediatric Oncology Nurse, Pediatric Hospice and Palliative Care Nurse and Perinatal Loss Clinician. She is a fellow in Palliative Care Nursing. Kathy completed the Harvard Program in Palliative Care and Education. She holds certificates in pediatric bioethics from Children’s Mercy Hospital in Kansas City and Palliative Care from the University of Washington.
