Emily Drake has been the family nurse practitioner for the Thrombosis and Anticoagulation Program at Boston Children’s Hospital since 2020. Prior to joining the Boston Children’s Hospital team, she was a nurse practitioner for Vascular Surgery at Massachusetts General Hospital for 4 years, and a general surgery nurse from 2010–2016. Job responsibilities have included inpatient and outpatient management of anticoagulation and thrombosis, consults, patient and staff education, and participating in research. She completed her Bachelor of Science in Nursing at the University of Connecticut, then earned her Master of Science degree at the University of Massachusetts. She holds a national board certification with the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners. Emily previously presented on the topic of anticoagulation medication error reduction strategies at Nurses Week at Boston Children’s Hospital.
