Caroline has been a pediatric nurse for over thirty-five years. Twenty-seven of those years have been in Pediatric Hematopoietic Stem Cell Transplant (HSCT) both at Duke University Medical Center and Boston Children's Hospital (BCH). For the past twenty-one years, Caroline has been at BCH on the HSCT Unit. She has been the Nursing Education Coordinator for the past fourteen years. As the educator, Caroline facilitates as well as provides patient and staff education.
For families, Caroline has developed patient teaching videos as well as family education sheets and provide one-one education. For nursing staff development, she has developed specific program initiatives as well as facilitate all education initiatives in the program.
Caroline is an APHON Chemotherapy and Biotherapy Instructor and BLS instructor providing classes 2 – 3 times per year at BCH. She has also been invited to speak at national and regional conferences in regards to the HSCT patient. Caroline is both CPON® certified and BMTCN® certified. She is an active member of several committees, councils, and SME groups at BCH. Caroline is on the APHON Conference Planning Committee commitment ending this year and on the BMTCN® Item Writing Committee for ONCC.
