Beth Fisher is a pediatric nurse practitioner with specialty focus of pediatric palliative care and Childhood Cancer Survivorship at Children's Hospital of Georgia, Augusta. She also practices at pediatric nurse practitioner in pediatric hematology/oncology at Children's Healthcare of Atlanta, Atlanta. She has been working actively in this field for 30 years as an advanced practice nurse, more specifically as a nurse practitioner for the last 20 years.
As a nurse educator, Beth is involved in the education of graduate nursing students at Clemson University, Clemson, South Carolina. Beth has been very active in Children's Oncology Group (COG) with particular interest and work in the cancer control and supportive care of children with serving on several committees pertaining to this. She is currently leading an Evidence Practice Project for COG Nursing on ALK/MEK Inhibitors and the education needed for patients and families of children receiving these agents. She serves as the Return of Results Liaison for COG as a clinical trial study nurse for 3 COG clinical trials dealing with cancer control and supportive care related interventions (ACCL0934, IMPACT (feasibility study) and ACCL20N1CD. She is also active in APHON, currently serving on the ACE Committee. In addition she serves on the Nursing Practice and Research Committee for the Society of Pediatric Nursing.
