Dr. Amy Newman has been a pediatric hematology/oncology nurse for 20 years, most recently specializing in the care of patients with different types of solid tumors. She recently received her PhD from Marquette University and was subsequently awarded a postdoctoral fellowship at the University of Utah.
Her program of research is focused on prognosis-related communication, examining how nurses can partner with their physician colleagues to improve the process of disclosure and goal setting.
