Dr. Amy Newman is currently an Assistant Professor in the College of Nursing at Marquette University. She also holds a nurse scientist position at Children's Wisconsin and an adjunct Assistant Professor position within the Department of Pediatrics, Hematology/Oncology/Bone Marrow Transplantation at the Medical College of Wisconsin. She has been a pediatric hematology/oncology nurse for over 20 years, and specialized in the care of pediatric, adolescent and young adult patients with different types of non-CNS solid tumors. Her program of research aims to enhance communication among patients, families, and clinicians, particularly around goals of care and patient preferences. Dr. Newman has been an active member of APHON for over 20 years, and currently serves as a Director-at-Large on the APHON Board.
