IT IS HAPPENING! APHON 45! IN-PERSON! I am so thrilled to be inviting you to join me at our 45th Annual Conference in Salt Lake City. So much has happened in the last 16 months, and I know we were all hoping that we could be meeting in person again, but now it is officially a reality. I can't wait for us to network, share knowledge, learn, relax, advance our profession, and most of all, celebrate! We had a very successful virtual conference last year and realized that this is a format that we need to continue offering the membership. As we know, not everyone gets to come to the conference (someone has to take care of the patients), so we will continue our virtual component. This year some of our sessions will be live for the virtual platform, so you can “be there” as it happens. We are going to hear from our own Kathy Perko as she kicks it off by “Looking back and envisioning our future with Grace, Gratitude, and Grit.” We will end our time together hearing from Shannon Bahrke as she reminds us to “Dream. Believe. Achieve!”. If this is your first APHON conference or you are a regular attendee, the conference offers so much to everyone. We have town halls to share ideas and concurrent sessions to increase your knowledge, whether for hematology, stem cell, supportive care, leadership, biotherapy, or palliative care, to name a few, and posters and exhibits to inspire and inform practice. And if you can’t make it, there is so much to gain from our virtual content! Also, this year is an anniversary year for us, and I can’t wait for us to celebrate 45 years as an organization dedicated to children, adolescents, and young adults with hematologic disorders and cancer. We are going to take APHON After Dark back to the 70s for a great party! I’m working on my outfit already!
I look forward to seeing many of you in Salt Lake City and reconnecting!
