Maria Cristina Pinero, BSN, RN, CPHON graduated from Boston College and has been a nurse for almost 20 years. As Clinical Nurse IV her concentration has been in the coordination of clinical operations. She has been instrumental in creating our Pediatric Ambulatory Care Center (PACC) outpatient acuity scale. Along with a group of her colleagues, she has developed a tool based on time data and tailored to specific patient needs. As an APHON chemotherapy/biotherapy instructor, she has an insight into the nursing care required to maintain quality and safety.

Anna Evans, MSN RN CPNP CPHON® --Pediatric Nurse Practitioner

Anna Evans is currently enrolled as a Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) student at the University of Alabama at Birmingham School of Nursing. She attended Indiana University for her BSN and University of California Los Angeles for her MSN. She has been a registered nurse (RN) for 18 years and a pediatric nurse practitioner (PNP) for 12 years. She began working at the Children’s Hospital Los Angeles (CHLA) as an RN on the oncology floor in 2002. Anna is a member of the APHON nominating committee.

Teresa Conte, PhD MSN CRNP--Associate Professor

Dr. Conte has been a nurse for 23 years-spending the most of them in pediatrics. She spent 10 years at the Children's Hospital of Philadelphia in the Oncology/Bone Marrow Transplant unit. She is a pediatric nurse practitioner and is a full-time faculty member at the University of Scranton. She has presented workshops and lectures on a variety of topics including self-care, compassion fatigue, stress management, resiliency and staff engagement.
