Paper Presentation: Clinical Care Topics — Does Post-Anesthesia Active Warming Effect Emergence Delirium in Pediatric Oncology Patients Receiving Daily Radiation Under General Anesthesia? (222-1)

4:15–4:35 pm Friday, September 6
Emergence delirium has an enormous effect on the children and families that experience it. If this child is scheduled for one isolated procedure, the result is a really bad day. The children in our department receive daily radiation under general anesthesia for up to 7 weeks. As you can imagine, when these patients have emergence delirium, we are highly motivated to make this better. One day, when one of these kids was also hypothermic, we stumbled upon an intervention that not only helped her but also many kids since.
