Monica Hente received her RN from St. Luke’s Nursing School in 1986, BSN from Webster University in 1989 and MSN/PNP from the University of Missouri at St. Louis in 1996. Monica has held positions as a staff nurse at Barnes Hospital in Dermatology/Oncology and Stem Cell Transplant, then ST.

Louis Children’s Hospital in Stem Cell Transplant and PICU and as a Nurse Practitioner at Kosair Children’s Hospital in Louisville Kentucky and St. Louis Children’s Hospital in Stem Cell Transplant.

Monica interests include stem cell transplant (her passion and she couldn't think about doing anything else). Monica is intrigued by malignant transplants, especially for Neuroblastoma. Some of the non-malignant diseases that peak Monica's interest are Aplastic Anemia and HLH.

Personally, Monica enjoys traveling, reading, animal rescue and most of all, her grandchild!

Monica is a cancer survivor since April 1st, 1992. Though she feels that she cheated a bit because she only needed surgery, but she still understands all the emotions that come along with a diagnosis of cancer.
