Maria Cristina Pinero, BSN, RN, CPHON graduated from Boston College and has been a nurse for almost 20 years. As Clinical Nurse IV her concentration has been in the coordination of clinical operations. She has been instrumental in creating our Pediatric Ambulatory Care Center (PACC) outpatient acuity scale. Along with a group of her colleagues, she has developed a tool based on time data and tailored to specific patient needs. As an APHON chemotherapy/biotherapy instructor, she has an insight into the nursing care required to maintain quality and safety.
Maria Cristina was a founding member and served as the previous chairperson of the PACC professional development committee. This consortium is dedicated to guiding nurses from orientation through their professional development, as a novice to expert. She is also the founder and chairperson of the Unit Based Peer Review committee, a collective dedicated to the improvement of nursing practice through feedback. She has also had 2 poster presentation regarding the topic of Peer Review at 2 national conferences.
