Kathy Perko has worked as a nurse for 35 years and as a nurse practitioner for 25 years. She founded the Bridges Pediatric Palliative Care Program at Doernbecher Children's Hospital in 2001. She is a national ELNEC-Pediatrics trainer and a national EPEC-Pediatrics trainer. She has extensive experience in educational program development and as a speaker on a wide variety of pediatric topics, including perinatal palliative care, culture & spirituality, communication, care at the time of death and ethical issues. Ms. Perko is a highly experienced clinical nurse practitioner expert in pediatric oncology and in pediatric palliative care. She has served on the Board of Directors of the Association of Pediatric Hematology/Oncology Nurses and is currently the Chair of the Local Chapter Committee.
