Ms. Evans has a strong clinical background in pediatric hematology-oncology and hematopoietic stem cell transplant.

She has over 16 years of experience caring for children with cancer before joining PaCT in 2014 and remains very committed to APHON. She has been a member of the ELNEC pediatric faculty since 2006 and provides several lectures and presentations on pediatric palliative care.

Dr. Lauri Linder holds a joint appointment as an Associate Professor at the University of Utah College of Nursing and as a Clinical Nurse Specialist with the Cancer Transplant Service at Primary Children’s Hospital in Salt Lake City, UT. Her research interests include symptom management and supportive care for children, adolescents, and young adults with cancer and include novel uses of technology to better understand the patient experience. Her clinical scholarship includes using practice-based data to guide the implementation of best practices to reduce central line-associated bloodstream infections in children with cancer and those undergoing hematopoietic stem cell transplant.

Dr. Mandrell is an Associate Member and Director, Division of Nursing Research at St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital. Dr. Mandrell’s program of research explores the biological mechanisms and behavioral processes that contribute to symptoms of cancer, cancer therapy and late effects of therapy. Her current R01 is assessing the prevalence of sleep apnea among patients treated with chest radiation, as well as etiology, comorbidities and biomarkers.

Colleen Nixon is the nurse educator at Boston Children’s Hospital on the inpatient hematology/oncology unit since 2004. Previous to that she was a nurse on the inpatient oncology/hematology and hematopoietic stem cell transplant unit, whereas a staff RN, served as a unit preceptor. CPON/CPHON certified from 2000-present. Since 2001 has planned, coordinated and evaluated a pediatric hematology/oncology nursing certification review course. Multiple podium and poster presentations at the national APHON conference from 2001-present. Have also presented at ONS, SPN, and ASPHO. 10/04 completed the APHON Pediatric Chemotherapy & Biotherapy Instructor course. Presently on the APHON local chapter liaisons and chemo/bio committee.

She has extensive experience in educational program development and as a speaker on a wide variety of pediatric topics, including perinatal palliative care, culture & spirituality, communication, care at the time of death and ethical issues. Ms. Perko is a highly experienced clinical nurse practitioner expert in pediatric oncology and in pediatric palliative care. She has served on the Board of Directors of the Association of Pediatric Hematology/Oncology Nurses and is currently the Chair of the Local Chapter Committee.

Dr. Dobrozsi also has a clinical and academic interest in health outcomes for children with cancer. She is an active member of the Children’s Oncology Group Patient Reported Outcome Committee whose focus is to learn more about how different cancer treatments impact physical, emotional and social health from the perspective of the patient.Dr. Dobrozsi’s personal research is focused on the use of patient-reported outcome measures to improve symptom management and decrease the burden of cancer care.
