Jen is a Pediatric Nurse Practitioner at the Dell Children's Blood and Cancer Center in Austin, Texas, a position she has been honored to hold for over 9 years. She has been a nurse for almost 20 years and a nurse practitioner for over 13 years. During her career, she has also held positions in general pediatrics, pediatric surgery, pediatric urgent care, and pediatric otolaryngology.
She is a Longhorn through-and-through; her undergraduate degree is from the University of Texas at Austin, and she earned her Masters in Nursing from the University of Texas Medical Branch in Galveston. She also holds a Bachelor of Arts in Education. Her favorite aspects of her job include fostering relationships with her families, helping to solve clinical challenges, and participating in COG studies. She is an adjunct lecturer in the University of Texas undergraduate and graduate nursing programs, a preceptor for nurse practitioner students, and has been a frequent presenter at national nursing conferences and meetings throughout her career, including past APHON conferences.
