Upon losing his daughter, Jessie, to inoperable brain cancer on January 5, 2012, he and his wife Stacey formed the Jessie Rees Foundation and has functioned as the CEO to ensure children fighting cancer have the support, resources, and encouragement they need to “Never Ever Give Up.” He shares this inspiring message in his newest book Never Ever Give Up: The Inspiring Story of Jessie and her JoyJars.
Since 2012, the Jessie Rees Foundation has raised over $12,000,000 dollars in donations to care for children, sibling and parents impacted by childhood cancer. Over 200,000 JoyJars have been stuffed and sent to homes, hospitals, Ronald McDonald Houses, charity partners and oncology camps. Each one of Jessie’s JoyJars provides ways for each family to sign-up for the free Year of Joy program and get connected to the free iNEGU smartphone app. For those families that have children in Heaven with Jessie, the foundation provides Memory Canvases to assist in the grief process and create lasting memories.
He and his wife live in Orange County, Calif. with their two other children, Shaya and JT, and their four dogs.
